横浜にある原鉄道模型博物館。とてもリアルな鉄道模型列車が走ります。ゴールデンウィークに合わせて、きかんしゃトーマスとなかまたちがジオラマを走ります。
驚きなのはトーマス達の列車は約50年前にイギリスのテレビ放送で使われていた本物の列車だそうです。今でも元気に走ってくれてると博物館の方が言ってました。
この原鉄道模型博物館の特長はジオラマとしての規模の大きさはもちろん、
まず、線路レールと車輪は鉄を使われていて本物のような音がします。
列車の電気は本物と同じように架線からとってます。列車が通ると信号が変わります。他にも踏切が点滅したり採石の色を変えたりなどとてもリアルに再現されています。
走り抜ける列車を見てると楽しくずっと見てられます。
5月6日まではトーマスが走っているようです。近くで可能なら見に行かれたら楽しいと思います。

What’s surprising is that Thomas and his friends’ trains are real trains that were used on British TV about 50 years ago. A museum staff member said that they still run well.
The distinctive feature of this Hara Model Railway Museum is the sheer scale of the diorama,
but first of all, the track rails and wheels are made of iron, so they sound just like the real thing.
The trains get electricity from overhead lines, just like the real thing. When a train passes, the signal changes. Other very realistic reproductions include flashing crossings and changing the color of quarry stones.
It’s fun to watch the trains run by, and you can watch them for a long time.
Thomas will be running until May 6th. If you’re nearby and can, it would be fun to go and see it.
